Meet Lucrezia: The Tattoo Model Blending Ink, Criminology, and Style

Hi Tattoo Life, it’s a pleasure to introduce myself to your readers. I’m Lucrezia, also known as Cheyenne – a cherished nickname from my father. I consider myself ‘forever 21’ at heart! Currently based in Rome, I spent formative years in England after turning 18, working, growing, and refining my English skills.

Tattoos as a Canvas of Self-Expression

My passion for art has been lifelong, likely inherited from my painter grandfather. As a teenager, I was captivated by tattooed rock stars and the powerful imagery of tattooed women in magazines. They represented authenticity and non-conformity to me.

My time in England deepened my fascination with tattoos. I observed diverse styles and how people used their skin to express their individuality.

At 16, I entered the fashion industry, working for an agency. However, the rigid standards felt restrictive, especially at a young age. I stepped away, and when I considered returning years later, my extensive tattoos presented new obstacles. This experience fueled my desire to challenge conventional beauty standards and embrace tattoos as a form of personal and professional identity.

Criminology and the Allure of Mystery

I’m nearing the completion of my criminology degree – a subject born from my love for mystery and the intricacies of the human mind. Crime films and thrillers have always intrigued me. Criminology offers a stimulating challenge and a fresh lens through which to understand the world. This academic pursuit complements my artistic side, providing a unique perspective that informs my work as a tattoo model by understanding diverse human motivations and stories.

Wanderlust and the Californian Dream

Travel is another significant part of my life. Immersing myself in different cultures sparks new tattoo ideas. Recent years have seen me frequently travel to the United States, with Los Angeles becoming a particular favorite. I find the environment there more accepting and less judgmental. Los Angeles allows me to express myself freely and feel genuinely accepted for who I am, tattoos and all. The open-mindedness of LA resonates deeply with my personal philosophy as a tattoo model.

The Story Ink Tells: Meaningful Tattoo Choices

For me, tattoos are more than just aesthetics. Each one is linked to a memory or a specific period in my life – indelible marks on my body’s canvas. My tattoos showcase a range of styles and artists, each leaving their unique imprint. I have realistic pieces by Michele Agostini, Old School tattoos from Rich Hadley, and traditional works by Tasso Tattooer, Viola Ceina, Daniele Tonelli, and Simone Ruco.

A favorite is the large grizzly bear on my back, flanked by anatomical hearts representing two important people in my life. I also have handmade pieces like those by Elena Borio. I appreciate mixing styles, selecting artists based on their ability to translate my emotions and memories into skin art. This variety, I believe, truly reflects the complexity of my experiences and identity as both a person and a tattoo model.

Future Aspirations: Fashion, Criminology, and Beyond

Looking ahead, after graduating in criminology, I plan to return to the United States to further explore both criminology and fashion – my other great passion. Having started in fashion design, my goal is to cultivate both careers, finding a synergy where criminology and fashion can coexist and perhaps even inspire each other. I’m excited to see how these seemingly different worlds can enrich each other in my professional journey as a tattoo model and beyond.
