Understanding Piercing Healing Times
Healing times for piercings can vary, as each individual’s body is unique. The average piercing healing times provided are approximate and intended as a general guideline for healthy piercings in most people. Remember that your piercing may heal faster or require a longer healing period. It’s crucial to continue the suggested aftercare routine for at least the recommended duration for your specific piercing to ensure proper healing and minimize complications.
Even after the initial healing period, consistent care is still beneficial. While twice-daily cleaning may no longer be necessary after the suggested healing time, we recommend cleaning your piercing once a day to maintain hygiene and prevent potential issues. Once your piercing is fully healed, you can safely change your jewelry. However, it’s important to remember that even healed piercings can shrink if jewelry is left out for an extended period, making re-insertion more difficult. If you love your piercing, we advise keeping jewelry in it to maintain the opening and enjoy your body modification.
Important Information Regarding Minor Piercings
For individuals under the age of 18 seeking piercings, Chicago Ink Tattoo & Body Piercing adheres to strict policies to ensure safety and legal compliance. Without exception, a parent or legal guardian must be present with the minor to sign all necessary release forms. For verification purposes, both the parent/legal guardian and the minor must present valid government-issued photo identification. Acceptable forms of ID include a driver’s license, passport, state-issued ID, or military ID. For minors younger than driving age, a valid school photo ID accompanied by a birth certificate with a state seal is also acceptable.
Please note that photocopies of identification documents are not accepted. If the parent’s last name differs from the minor’s, legal documentation proving the relationship is required. This can include a birth certificate, divorce papers, or adoption papers. Court papers are necessary to establish legal guardianship. For minors between 13 and 17 years of age, we offer face, ear, and navel piercings only. Chicago Ink Tattoo & Body Piercing does not perform genital piercings on any minors under the legal age of 18.
