For those unfamiliar with our journey, June Bug Tattoo began as a dream in Altadena in April 2023. Founded by Isabela Livingstone, our vision was to establish a tattoo shop that stood apart – a welcoming and secure space, especially for women, the LGBTQ+ community, and neurodiverse individuals seeking body art. June Bug Tattoo quickly evolved into exactly that: a sanctuary where creativity and self-expression thrived.
Tragically, the Eaton Wildfire brought our burgeoning dream to a sudden halt. The fire not only destroyed our physical space but also Isabela’s life savings, which had been poured into building this unique studio. The loss was devastating, reducing our beloved shop to ashes.
However, the outpouring of support that followed has been nothing short of miraculous. The tattoo community, the Altadena community, and supporters from across the globe rallied around us, offering words of encouragement, donations, and unwavering belief in our mission. This incredible wave of solidarity has fueled our determination to rebuild and carry on the vision of June Bug Tattoo.
Rebuilding from the ground up is no small feat, but we are committed to recreating the haven you know and love in our new Eagle Rock location. Donations from our generous supporters will be instrumental in covering essential costs such as securing a new space, navigating permits and licenses, undertaking necessary renovations, and acquiring furniture, POS systems, and vital office supplies. Every contribution is a step towards bringing June Bug Tattoo back to its full glory.
