Hey tattoo enthusiasts! It’s been a busy period, but I’m excited to share a cool project I worked on involving an Angel Devil Tattoo design. With tattoo season in full swing, things have been hectic, yet creatively fulfilling, especially with projects that bridge music and ink.
Recently, Toryn Green, the frontman of the band Fuel, reached out to me with an exciting proposition. He was scheduled to appear on the TV show LA Ink and wanted a unique tattoo for the occasion: my Angel/Devil Ambigram. This was intended as a tribute to Fuel’s album “Angels and Devils,” which had just been released in August. The theme couldn’t have been more fitting, right?
Toryn was looking for something with a bit more edge than the standard angel devil tattoo design I had previously showcased. He wanted a design that resonated with a “rock and roll” vibe. After some collaboration, I crafted a custom Angel/Devil ambigram tattoo that incorporated his initials, “TG,” into the design elements flanking either side of the ambigram.
Unfortunately, due to an unexpected tour extension, Toryn’s appearance on LA Ink was postponed, and he couldn’t get the tattoo on the show. However, his commitment to the angel devil tattoo was unwavering. He brought a film crew to his tattoo appointment, capturing the process of him getting inked with the custom design. This footage was then set to Fuel’s song “Gone” and shared on YouTube and their Myspace page, giving fans a glimpse into his new tattoo.
While the LA Ink plan changed, the story took another exciting turn. Toryn did make it onto the show later, and for that appearance, he opted for a custom Sinner/Saint Ambigram tattoo on his other forearm. You can read more about that design in my other post, “Sinner/Saint Ambigram.”
This experience highlights the appeal of angel devil tattoos and ambigrams – designs that capture duality and personal expression. Have a great day! – Mark
