A Jordan High School alumnus from 1987 and a Columbia College graduate in 2001, Record’s commitment to service and craftsmanship is evident throughout his life. Before establishing himself as a respected tattoo artist, he honorably served in the U.S. Army for four years, with a significant portion of his service stationed in Oahu, Hawaii. His professional trajectory then included roles at Kmart and within the petroleum industry, working with companies like Rainbo Oil, Amoco Oil, British Petroleum, and currently Tesoro Petroleum as an Account and Merchandise Manager. However, beyond his professional career and military service, Allen W. Record is also known as the owner of Doc Holliday Tattoo Utah, a venture where he channels his artistic talents and entrepreneurial spirit.

His Masonic journey began in 1997 when he petitioned Acacia Lodge #17 in Salt Lake City. He quickly progressed through the degrees, becoming a Master Mason in January 1998. His dedication to Freemasonry is evident in his nine years as an Officer of Acacia Lodge, including serving as Worshipful Master in 2005 and 2007. Further demonstrating his commitment, he was appointed to the Grand Lodge of Utah in 2004 and has since held numerous significant positions, culminating in his election as Junior Grand Warden in 2010. Beyond Acacia Lodge, Brother Record is a 33rd-degree member of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, a member of the Midvale York Rite Bodies, a Noble of El Kalah Shrine, and a member of the Salt Lake Masonic Temple Board. He also served twice as Worthy Patron of Lynds Chapter #1 OES and is a founding member of the Craftsmen Riding Association.
